Different Packaging Material Types

When choosing the ideal packaging types to use, you have to remember that not every material fits for every single situation. Some materials are better than others, and you’ll be able to, with this, choose the packaging that you want to have, and those that impact the overall benefits that you wish to harness in your packaging.

Here, we’ll go over the different kinds of packaging, what they mean, and other amazing benefits that come with this as well.

Corrugated packaging

Corrugated boxes are basically the main staple that the industry has, and they’re some of the best to use.

They are basically a rectangular sheet, but you can also get them in flat boxes that you put together.

They also work well with other types of machinery, such as case erectors, and they are what help create the shape of the box. They can be used for shipping and packaging of items. They’re known for being strong and durable, and can hold many items, and are good for a variety of different things you might wish to package.

Stretch Film

If you’re someone who is curious about one of the most common and best types of packaging that’s out there you’re not alone. A lot of companies and even places that have some shipping use this, as it’s good to contain the different items together, especially palletized items before they’re shipped out.

They have specific types of load containment, which are used to prevent the packaging from falling over and getting compromised. The load containment is what it’s able to secure in place, so it’s able to go from point A to point B safely.

Shrink Film

Shrink film is another very popular one that’s used to help with packaging all around the world. it’s one that’s used in practically everything. From packaging DVD and video game cases, to even just creating a film over some food to keep it together, it’s very popular.

There are different formulations that can be used. Polyolefin is the best for instance, if you’re going to be shrink wrapping foods together.

This is something that is a little challenging, because if you use the wrong one, it causes some problems in terms of safety, and it will not protect the item that it’s packaging.

They work with sealers and shrink tunnels, which use heat to help create the seal, and they’re basically what’s used to help keep everything together, sealing this so that it stays together effectively.

Sustainable Shrink Film

There are now shrink films that are used to create a sustainable type of option. These are made from eco-friendly materials that are good for a lot of different types of means.

There are other types of alternatives to regular heat-treated shrink films. One of them is colored shrink film. This is one that’s printed with either a logo or other designs on it, used to give the customer an idea of the product. These are of course, important to understand, because a lot of times, people don’t actively look at the different kinds of shrink film that there are out there, and they use the wrong one.

Then there is tubing, which is a plastic tube that’s used in sleeves, which are used to shrink wrap a ton of various products.

Poly bags

Finally, we’ve got polybags, which are bags that are transparent, used to package and ship different products. They usually have a polyethylene seal to them that’s vacuum, and it’s used for packaging just about anything, including food products, and clothing too.
